Itai Tamir is a producer who specialises in arthouse films, and who is also the founder and owner of production house, Laila Films. Tamir frequently collaborates with young, up-and-coming filmmakers, helping them cut their teeth in the field and gain precious film experience. Many of the films he had produced have been shown at festivals around the world and won multiple awards. Highlights of his film credits include Raphaël Nadjari’s Avanim (2004) of which he was co-producer, Keren Yedaya’s Or (My Treasure) (2004, co-producer), Ronit and Shlomi Elkabetz’s To Take a Wife (2004, co-producer), Vardit (Vidi) Bilu and Dalia Hager’s Close to Home (2005, co-producer), Mushon Salmona’s Vasermil (2007, co-producer), Dover Kosashvili’s Infiltration (2010, co-prdoucer), Nadav Lapid’s Policeman (2011, producer), Nony Geffen’s Not in Tel Aviv (2012, co-producer), and Ofir Raul Graizer’s The Cakemaker (2017, co-producer).
In 1997, he directed The Stage Fever (35min), a documentary short following the preparations in the run up to Israeli national theatre, Habima’s 80th anniversary celebrations.
