Aryeh Moskona is an actor, singer, and voice talent. Moskona’s career began when he joined the IDF’s music ensemble, Lehakat Pikud Hazzafon (‘the northern command band’). On completing his mandatory service, he promptly joined the similarly-named, Tel Aviv-based Lehakat Pikud Dizengoff musical group. In the 1970s, Moskona began appearing in theatre, television, and film. The 1990s saw him win two Ophir Awards; the first, for Best Actor as the lead in Jacob (Yankul) Goldwasser’s Over the Ocean (1991) and the second, in the Best Supporting Actor category for his performance in Julie Shles’s Afula Express (1997).
His expansive list of film credits include: The Highway Queen (Menahem Golan, 1971), Kazablan (Menahem Golan, 1973), Halfon Hill Doesn’t Answer (Assi Dayan, 1976), Operation Thunderbolt (Menahem Golan, 1977), The Day we Met (Sam Firstenberg, 1990), A Bit of Luck (Ze’ev Revach, 1992), Leylasede (Shemi Zarhin, 1995), As Tears Go By (Eitan Green, 1996), It All Begins at Sea (Eitan Green, 2008), and many more. Moskona was also a regular on many dramas and children’s TV programmes over the years, including Hedva Ve’Shlomik (1971), Hopa Hey (1992), Keilu’s Warehouse (1992-1997), Shemesh (2000), Danny Hollywood (2007-2008), Galis (2012), and Tzomet Miller (‘Miller junction’) (2018). As a voice actor, Moskona lent his vocals to the Hebrew version of the children’s animated series, The World of David the Gnome’s opening theme. As a singer, he performs and tours regularly with 1960s cover band, Haval al Hazman.
