An excerpt from Karmiel, a documentary produced by Histadrut and the Ministry of Housing.
Less than two years since the beginning of its construction, the development town of Karmiel is inaugurated. In the opening ceremony, journalist Ogenia Simchoni reads Karmiels establishment scroll out loud in the presence of Prime Minister Levi Eshkol and ministers. First families unload their luggage from buses and enter the houses. Shops and mail services start operating. Children go to school, and adults study Hebrew in an ulpan.
The soundtrack, featuring singer Shimon Bar, was written by Shlomo Tanny and composed by Eddy Halpern.
