Dov Navon is a stage, film, and TV actor. A graduate of the Beit Zvi School for the Performing Arts, Navon became a household name when he joined the ensemble cast of legendary TV satire programme, The Cameric Five (‘ha-hamishia hakamerit’.) The fan favourite sketch show ran from 1993-1997 and has since shot to cult status. In the noughties, from 2003-2007 Navon was a series regular on yet another hit satire programme, A Wonderful Country. In 2018, Navon was cast as Amnon Titinsky in the hit comedy series, Checkout. This role earned him a TV Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
Navon has been a fixture on all major Israeli stages including Habima National Theatre, Beit Lessin Theatre, and the Cameri Theatre. In 1996, he won a Theatre Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Shmuel Hasfari’s play, Shiva.
Already at the age of 12, Navon could be seen on the big screen playing one of the sons of the titular character in Alfred Steindhardt’s 1971 film, Salomonico. In the mid-eighties he began branching out into television, initially doing a host of guest appearances on cult classic sitcom, Krovim Krovim, and the Israeli version of Sesame Street, before landing a series regular role in the sitcom, Yes What?! (‘ken ma?!’).
Highlights of his other TV credits include The Bourgeoisie (2000-2004), Global Dova’le (2004), Arab Labour (2010) The New Black (aka ‘shababnikim’) (2017), and The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem (2021).
