A big screen adaptation of Amos Kenan’s novel, The Road to Ein Harod. Set in the near future, a postapocalyptic Israel is in the throes of a crippling drought and governed by martial law. Saul, a journalist who has published numerous anti-leadership articles knows that the authorities are after him. He tries to flee to Ein-Harod, one of the last bastions of freedom where radio broadcasts calling out for mutiny are being made. On his way there, he meets an Arab posing as Jew, a deranged army general, and a young female soldier.
This is an English-speaking film starring Tony Peck, son of one of Hollywood’s all-time greatest stars, Gregory Peck, and Italian actor [later turned politician] Alessandra Mussolini – granddaughter of the WWII fascist dictator.
