Ezra Kafri is an actor and painter. After working a series of casual jobs and at the relatively late age of 35, Kafri began taking acting classes with acclaimed theatre director, Nola Chilton. In 1975 he joined the Haifa Theatre training company whilst also landing roles in several plays including Little Man, Most Cruel – The King, Night of the Twentieth, and Nerves.
Kafri is one of filmmaker, Joseph Pitchhadze’s regular cast members and has, to date, appeared in all his films: Under Western Eyes (1996), Bésame Mucho (2000), Year Zero (2004), and Sweets (2013).
Highlights of his other film credits include Joker (Issac Zepel Yeshurun, 1975), Paratroopers (Judd Ne’eman, 1977), The Band (Avi Nesher, 1978), Stigma (Uri Barbash, 1982), Gloves (Rafi Adar, 1986), Shuroo (Savi Gabizon, 1990), Life According to Agfa (Assi Dayan, 1992), and The Revenge of Itzik Finkelstein (Enrique Rottenberg, 1993).
Kafri was married to talent agent, Perry Kafri, who passed away in 2019.
