Bella Baram (1918-2016) was a children’s author, radio presenter, and documentary filmmaker. Baram found her way to filmmaking through her love of the theatre, when she began documenting actors at Israel’s national Habima Theatre including Aharon Meskin and Yehoshua Bertonov, to name but a few. She later went on to direct additional films in Israel and Germany, tackling a range of subjects. Highlights of her films include Old Age is Makeup, Habima, Yesterday and Today (1972), How to Love Children, and Saturday Painters.
