Baruch Dienar (1919-1997) was a director, screenwriter, and film producer. Dienar made dozens of documentaries and TV movies, as well as two feature-length films. His debut feature offering was They were Ten (1960), which followed the story of a group of pioneers who have settled in the Land of Israel. The film is considered a milestone in Israeli cinema and has long since been regarded as canonical. Highlights of his other films include Take Two (1972), and God’s Assistant (1992).
