Yosef Carmon is a theatre and film actor. In theatre, Carmon is most commonly associated with the Cameri Theatre and specifically, Hanoch Levin’s plays; this, owing to their longtime collaborations on plays such as Ya’akobi & Leidental (1972), Young Varda’le (1974), The Rubber Merchants (1978), Solomon Grip (1981), Job’s Passion (1981), Suitcase Packers (1983), Everyone Wants to Live (1985), Requiem (1999), and many more out of the Levin catalogue. Highlights of his film credits include: Not a Word to Morgenstein (Arieh Elias, Benjamin Koretzki, and Ben Oyserman, 1963), But Where is Daniel Wax? (Avraham Heffner, 1972), Aunt Clara (Avraham Heffner, 1972), Little Man (Ze’ev Revach, 1978), Tel Aviv-Berlin (Tzipi Trope, 1987), Mr. Baum (Assi Dayan, 1997), Alila (‘plot) (Amos Gitai, 2003), Sweet Mud (Dror Shaul, 2006), Dr. Pomerantz (Assi Dayan, 2011), and The Farewell Party (Tal Granit and Sharon Maymon, 2014). Carmon’s performance in Amit Manor’s 2012 film, Epilogue, won him the Best Lead Actor award at the Jerusalem Film Festival.
Carmon is the father of director and editor, Asaf Korman.
