Etgar Keret is an Israeli author, playwright, screenwriter, and filmmaker. His books have all had stellar international success, with the majority of them becoming award-winning best sellers. Highlights of his books include Missing Kissinger (1994), Kneller’s Happy Campers (1998), Suddenly, a Knock on the Door (2010), and A Glitch at the Edge of the Galaxy (2018) which earned him a Sapir Prize. In the nineties, Keret spent three series writing for TV satire hit, The Cameric Five. In 1996, he co-created the film Skin Deep with Ran Tal, and later wrote the screenplay for cult film, Total Love (Gur Bentwich, 2000).
In 2007, Keret created the film Jellyfish with his partner, Shira Geffen, which was later shown at the Cannes Film Festival where it took home the Caméra d’Or award. He later teamed up with director, Tatia Rosenthal and co-wrote the script for $9.99 (2009), then co-executive produced What Do we Have in Our Pockets? (2013) with Dov Alfon. In 2019, he wrote and directed The Middleman with Shira Geffen, a French-Belgian miniseries inspired by his stories.
