An episode of the classic childrens television show The Magic Door (Delet Haksamim), produced by the Israeli Film Service in collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Education, and the National Council for the Prevention of Road Accidents, and aimed to educate children about road traffic safety. The plot centers around siblings Hagari and Yoav as they learn about road safety through various characters they encounter. Among the characters are the magician Yehoyakim Kook (played by Gideon Singer), the owner of the local pharmacy Dr. Guttman (Mordechai Ben Ze’ev), and his schlemiel assistant Hertzel (Gidi Gov). On the twelfth and final episode of the show, Mr. Kook informs Hagar and Yoav that he is leaving and will travel to the Southern Islands, after his work is completed and the children have internalized the road safety rules. Kook packs his belongings and implores Hagar and Yoav to monitor road traffic safety. Simultaneously, Guttman is searching for Hertzel, who did not show up for work at the pharmacy, and decides to fire him. But it turns out that Hertzel, who has internalized road safety laws by Mr. Kook, was delayed on his way to work because he saved a child from an accident. Guttman is eventually convinced that he should not fire Hertzel.
