An excerpt from Fishing in Israel, a documentary film produced by the Prime Minsters Offices Minhal Hahasbara.
In an attempt to improve Israels fishing industry, the Ministry of Agriculture has established the Fisheries Research Institute in Haifa and a research station in Tantura (the Aquaculture Research Station in Dor). The Fisheries Research Institute keeps a collection of specimens of 250 fishes that live in Israels waters. Research station staff try breeding new species of fish in ponds.
