A clip from the film “To the Sea”, produced by the Information Center (Israeli Film Service) in collaboration with the Hevel Yami LeIsrael, an association for marine training. The film reviews the development of the Israeli maritime industry, which is reflected in the economic aspect of building a commercial fleet and cargo ships, and also in the vocational aspect, with a new generation of sailors undergoing training for the local industry. The clip reviews the expansion of educational activity in the maritime industry as reflected in the number of vocational schools operating in Israel. For example, in the Naval Officers School in Acre, youth study sailing and marine mechanics, while in Mevo’ot Yam School teenagers are trained in fishing and sailing.
