The film was produced by the Information Center (Israeli Film Service) in collaboration with the Hevel Yami LeIsrael, an association for marine training. The film reviews the development of the Israeli maritime industry, which is reflected not only in the economic aspect of building a commercial fleet and cargo ships, but also in the vocational aspect, with a new generation of sailors undergoing training so that the industry can rely on local workers. The expansion of educational activity in the maritime industry is reflected in the number of vocational schools operating in Israel, for example in the Naval Officers’ School in Acre, where youth study sailing and marine mechanics, and also in Mevo’ot Yam school where teenagers are trained in fishing and sailing.
