The Arava race between Beer Sheva and Eilat, marking four years to the Eilat conquest. Military athletes embark on a three-day marathon from Beer Sheva to Eilat. The runners leave the starting point, pass Bedouin bystanders and run down Maale Haakravim. A commander unit soldier is the first to reach the finish line. President Yitzhak Ben Zvi attends a military ceremony marking Eilats conquest. The winning runner arrives at the ceremony carrying the Eilat Liberation Telegram and hands it to the ceremonys commanding officer.
