The establishment of kibbutz Hanita in the Upper Galilee.
Plugot Sade soldiers arriving in trucks. Signalling the groups arrival, using mirrors. Moshe Dayan is a member of the group that signal on the hill. Signalling with flags.
A company of Ghaffirs (Jewish Settlement Police) arrives. The site on which the settlement was to be founded, and the surrounding hills. The Ghaffirs climb to the settlement site. Volunteers unload cargo brought by truck. Followed by the volunteers (two of whom were killed that night) one of them is Yaakov Berger. The men taking equipment and carrying it up to the settlement site. The volunteers levelling the ground, Ghaffirs, donkeys. Davar newspaper editor Yatziv carrying wooden beams. Taking a rest. Preparing the site – clearing underbrush, laying pipes. Ghaffirs climbing up the hill with dogs. Clearing the underbrush. Avraham Herzfeld working. Banging fence-posts into the ground. Putting up tents. A rabbi carrying a Torah scroll under a canopy. Dancing around the rabbi and the scroll. Moshe Shertok (Sharett) and Yitzhak Ben Zvi. Sitting on the ground and eating – Jews and Arabs. Building a shack. Herzfeld singing. Others sitting around and singing – including Ezrahi (of the Jewish National Fund) and Moshe Shertok. Building the fence. Everything has been completed. Sitting down to eat at a table. A car enters the settlement. Work on the fence. Signalling with mirrors and a flag that the outpost has been established. Tents and the settlement from the distance. A Ghaffir standing guard, with the settlement in the distance.
