George Obadiah’s hit comedy features a roster of Israeli stars in its cast, including Ya’ackov Bodo, Dubi Gal, Gideon Singer, Gabi Amrani, Tsippi Shavit, and Tuvia Tzafir. Nachum (aka Nahtche) Rabinowitz always seems to land on his feet, even when nothing seems to go according to plan. He goes around Tel Aviv, selling all sorts of quick fix “hacks”, successfully avoiding council inspectors, whilst getting a lift in a car driven by none other than Tel Aviv’s Chief Army Medical Officer. Nahtche poses as a sickly patient and finds himself on the run from both the army and the police. Later on, he is even sent off to a military base up in the snowy peaks of Mount Hermon, but that does not seem to get in the way of his ongoing mischief-making. From the mountain base, he somehow ends up in the desert and then, in Tel Aviv’s Ichilov Hospital. With Nahtche, there really is never a dull moment, and though the twists and turns are aplenty, he always comes out on top.
