Director Nissim Dayan’s short follows the rise of the Israeli offshoot of the Black Panthers movement, tracing its activities throughout the first half of the 1970s, and chronicling its members’ attempts to overhaul the prevailing social order in the country. Through interviews with high profile activists such as Saadia Marciano, Charlie Bitton, and Shalom Cohen, alongside archival materials, a collection of images, and footage taken from Nissim Mossek’s film, Have you Heard about the Panthers, Mr. Moshe?, Dayan examines the very ground that bred the movement which sought to transform the status and social standing of Middle Eastern Israeli Jews (Mizrahi) from its core.
