In the winter of 2000, a huge amphitheatre was erected for the Mass Pope John Paul II held at the Mount of Beatitudes where two thousand years earlier, Jesus of Nazareth had delivered his Sermon on the Mount to his disciples. Longtime director, Yaky Yosha spent six weeks documenting how a handful of Jews and Christians took on the forces of nature, with all the odds stacked against them. Inherit the Earth is a moving testimony to the tremendous efforts that went into guaranteeing the success of the Pope’s historic visit to the Holy Land.
