Following the occupation of the Gaza Strip by the IDF in the Sinai Campaign, the Israel Police began operating in the Gaza Strip. Israeli journalists arrive in the Gaza Strip as guests of the Israel Police Force and visit four new police stations opened in Rafah, Gaza, Khan Younis and Deir al Balah. In Khan Yunis, journalists visit the Israeli police station located in a building intended to serve as a hospital, and the ruins of the Egyptian police station that was destroyed by the IDF bombing. A group of policemen supervises the distribution of UNRWA food to the refugees, while others control the movement on the roads of the Gaza Strip.
