Jerusalem, early 20th century. Following the death of his second wife, Naftali Siman-Tov (Yossi Pollak) will not hear of getting married for the third time, fearing that a curse may befall any woman who gives herself to him. However, his inner circle within the Bukharan community of which he is a member, convince him to marry young maiden, Flora (Rita). This is director, Michal Bat-Adam’s fifth film, based on the story, ONE THOUSAND WIVES IS A GOOD SIGN, by Dan Benya-Sri that first appeared in the SHADOW BIRDS collection.
