Tzahi Grad is a television and film actor, and film director. Highlights of his TV acting credits include Franco Ve’Spector (‘Franco and Spector’), Napoleon Hills Kids, Reaching for Heaven, Walk the Dog, Bsorot Tovot (‘good news’), A Touch Away, Ima’lle (‘mummy’), Pillars of Smoke, Lost in Africa, and Our Boys.
Highlights of Grad’s film credits include Mars Turkey (Oded Davidoff, 2001), Café Tales (Amit Lior, 2003), Salt of the Earth (Uri Barbash, 2006), Jellyfish (Shira Geffen and Etgar Keret, 2007), Eli & Ben (Ori Ravid, 2008), Zion and his Brother (Eran Merav, 2009), The Flood (Guy Nattiv, 2011), and Big Bad Wolves (Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado, 2013). Grad’s performance in Oded Davidoff’s Someone to Run with (2006) won him an Ophir Award that year in the Best Supporting Actor category.
Grad’s directorial efforts have also won him his share of awards. His 2001 film, Giraffes won the Best Screenplay Award at the Jerusalem Film Festival. His 2006 film, Foul Gesture took home top honours at the Haifa International Film Festival where it won Best Film and was also shown at various festivals round the world, including the San Sebastián International Film Festival and the Mediterranean Film Festival (Cineméd) in Montpellier. His latest film, The Cousin (2017) was shortlisted for the Venice Film Festival and also won Grad a Best Actor Award at the Haifa International Film Festival.
