Ran Tal is an independent director and producer who is mostly involved in documentary filmmaking, and who is a graduate of Tel Aviv University’s Department of Film and Television Studies. His films, which tackle Israeli reality from a socio-historical standpoint have been shown at countless festivals around the world, often winning a host of awards. Highlights of his films include Merchant of Feelings (1994), Skin Deep (1996), 67 Ben Zvi Road (1998), My Dream House (2007), Children of the Sun (2007), Gitay in Search of His Carmel (2009), The Garden of Eden (2012), and The Museum (2017). Tal teaches Film Studies at Tel Aviv University and at Sapir College and is the founder and co-editor of online magazine, Takriv (Closeup.)
