Jerusalem-native Michal Aviad is an Israeli filmmaker and senior Film Studies lecturer at Tel Aviv University. Aviad is a founding member of the Israeli Documentary Filmmakers Forum and has been a judging panelist at countless film festivals, including the Jerusalem Film Festival and Visions du Réel – a documentary film festival in Nyon, Switzerland. Highlights of her documentary film credits include: The Women Next Door (1992), Ever Shot Someone? (1995), Jenny and Jenny (1997), For my Children (2002), and Dimona Twist (2016) which took home that year’s top honours at the Jerusalem Film Festival in the Best Israeli Documentary category. Aviad has also directed a number of fiction films including Invisible (2011) starring the late Ronit Elkabetz and Evgenia Dodina, and most recently 2019’s Working Woman.
