Eitan Green is a director, screenwriter, and film professor. Green was part of Tel Aviv University’s Department of Film and Television Studies’ inaugural graduating class. Green directed his first films in the 1980s; a time when local audiences were very much wary of Israeli film and as such, stayed away from cinemas. Public disdain notwithstanding, Green’s films, dominated by his famously minimalistic style, ended up making him one of the most prominent, representative voices of the period. Highlights of his films include Lena (1982), Into the Night (1984), American Citizen (1992), As Tears Go By (1996), It All Begins at Sea (2008, winner of the Innovation Award at the Montréal World Film Festival), and Indoors (2017).
