Dalia Karpel is a journalist, screenwriter, and film director. Alongside her journalism work in local Tel Aviv weekly paper. Ha’Ir (‘the city’), monthly publication, Monitin (‘reputation’) and later, daily broadsheet, Haaretz, Karpel began directing a string of successful documentaries that were shown at festivals worldwide. Highlights of her films include The Anonymous Pioneer (1982), Emil Habibi: I Stayed in Haifa (1997) which was featured at the Berlin International Film Festival and went on to win awards both at the Jerusalem Film Festival and the Amiens International Film Festival in France, and Lahola (2001).
