Alona Kimhi is an author, lyricist, and actress. Kimhi studied at the Beit Zvi School for the Performing Arts and in the 1980s, appeared in some of the most popular Israeli films of the decade. Highlights of her acting credits include Breaking (Avi Nesher, 1985), Himmo, King of Jerusalem (Amos Guttman, 1987), Abba Ganuv (Jacob Goldwasser, 1987) and the sequel, Abba Ganuv II (Avi Cohen, 1989). In 1996, Kimhi started publishing novels. Her debut novel, Moi, Anastasia, was published incognito and went on to win an ACUM Literary Award. Kimhi is married to musician, Izhar Ashdot. And has written the lyrics to some of his greatest hits including Chocolate Man (‘ish hashocolad’), and Shadow of a Summer’s Day (‘tzilo shel yom kaitz’).
