Shmuel Peleg Haimovich is a film and television screenwriter and director. Haimovich created, wrote, and directed the nineties Israeli cult drama, Hafuch (‘upside down’) (1996-1998), and was a staff writer on the long-running hit drama, Srugim (‘knitted’) (2012-2018), for which he won a Best Screenplay award from the Israeli Television Academy. Haimovich also directed the comedy sketch programme, Epidural (2004), the series The Big Special Thing (2020) and most recently, Playing and Singing (2021). In 2003, he wrote and directed the film Summer Story, which was shown at the Montpelier Mediterranean Film Festival and shortlisted for the official Generation children’s competition at the Berlin International Film Festival.
