Shaul Mizrahi is an Israeli screen and stage actor. Mizrahi, a graduate of the Nissan Nativ Acting Studio, is perhaps most remembered for his portrayal of late Middle Eastern soul singer, Zohar Argov, whom he played in Eran Riklis’s 1993 film, Zohar – a part that won him an Ophir Award for Best Actor. On stage, Mizrahi has performed at various Israeli theatres, including Habima National Theatre, Beit Lessin, and Haifa Theatre. On the small screen, he has appeared in a string of TV dramas including Tik Sagur (‘case closed’), The Missing File, and The Arbitrator where he played the part of Yossi Asulin.
Highlights of his film credits include Hasamba and the Horse Robbers (‘hasamba ve-shodedey ha-susim) (Hillel Damron, 1985), Ricochets (Eli Cohen, 1986), One of Us (Uri Barbash, 1986), Dogs are Color Blind (Orna Raviv & Yohanan Raviv, 1996), Avanim (Raphaël Nadjari, 2004), Ushpizin (‘guests’) (Gidi Dar, 2004), Live and Become (Radu Mihaileanu, 2005), The Children of USSR (Feliks Gerchikov, 2007), and Policeman (Nadav Lapid, 2011).
