Rotem Abuhab is an actor, comic, and standup comedian. Abuhab started off her career as a child actor on the Israeli version of Sesame Street, and on legendary sketch comedy programme, Zehu Ze! (‘that’s it!’). The late nineties saw her shoot to fame as a comedian when she appeared on the sketch programme, Domino, alongside the likes of Assi Cohen, Adir Miller, Guri Alfi, Roy Bar-Natan, and Talli Oren.
In 2006, Abuhab won an Ophir Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Shemi Zarhin’s film, Aviva, my Love. Since 2011, she has starred in the long-running hit sitcom, Sabri Maranan. In 2015, she joined satire programme, Back of the Nation (‘gav ha’uma’) as a fulltime panelist. Highlights of Abuhab’s other television credits include The Good Fellas (‘ha-chevre ha-tovim’), Telenovela Inc. (‘telenovela ba’am’), Live from the Revolution (‘shidurey hamahapecha’), Jerusalem Mixed Grill (‘meorav yerushalmi’), Erev Adir (‘tonight with Adir Miller’) The Pyjamas, Sirens, Bortført, What Happened in Oslo, La Familia, and others.
Highlights of her film credits include Operation Grandma (Dror Shaul, 1999), Bonjour Monsieur Shlomi (Shemi Zarhin, 2003), Sima Vaknin Witch (Dror Shaul, 2003), Turn Left at the End of the World (Avi Nesher, 2004), The World is Funny (Shemi Zarhin, 2012), Valley (Sophie Artus, 2014), and Saving Neta (Nir Bergman, 2016).
