Menahem Eini (1949-2002) was a theatre and film actor. In theatre, Eini starred in a string of one-man shows including One Eye Laughing (1981), The Cat (1986), and Local (1991). Eini was a fixture on the Haifa Theatre stage where he appeared in countless plays including The Italian Straw Hat, Twelfth Night, and Inherit the Wind. Eini is especially remembered for his role as Benny Ratzon, the gay soldier in Avi Nesher’s 1978 film, The Band. Highlights of his other film credits include Kazablan (Menahem Golan, 1973), Marriage Tel Aviv Style (Joel Silberg, 1979), West Side Girl (George Obadiah, 1979), 5 and 5 (Shmuel Imberman, 1980), The Delta Force (Menahem Golan, 1986), and Zohar (Eran Riklis, 1993).
