Liviu Carmeli is a documentary filmmaker and the founder of Tel Aviv University’s film archive which he was head of between 1973-2019. In the five decades he’d spent at the helm of the film archive, Carmeli made immeasurable contributions to film and television students’ education; many of whom went on to become prominent filmmakers and creators in Israel and beyond. Highlights of his directorial credits include Independence for a Day (2003) and The House on Tabenkin Street (2008).
