Hadar Friedlich is a director, screenwriter, and editor. Friedlich studied at the Maaleh Film School. Her graduation project, Grief (2001) was showcased at a range of leading film festivals round the world and went on to win the Golden FIPA prize at the Biarritz International Festival of Audiovisual Programming in France, and the Grand Prix award at the Melbourne International Film Festival in Australia.
Friedlich edited Jorge Gurvich’s 1997 film, The Shower, and directed the 2002 TV drama, Voices from the Heartland: Slaves of the Lord, which aired on Israeli broadcaster, Channel 2 and won Best Screenplay at the Jerusalem Film Festival. In 2011, Friedlich directed the award-winning narrative feature film, Beautiful Valley. The film was featured at the world’s most prominent film festivals including the San Sebastián International Film Festival and the Jerusalem Film Festival, in addition to winning the Critics’ Choice Award at Cinemed – The Montpellier Mediterranean Film Festival.
