Dror Shaul is a screenwriter and director. Shaul grew up in kibbutz Kissufim in the northern Negev region of Israel. After completing his military service, he moved to Tel Aviv where he found work in a range of film and TV productions. In 1999, he directed his debut film, Operation Grandma, which won an Ophir Award for Best Made for TV Film and later earned cult status. Shaul went on to direct a number of notable feature films, including Sima Vaknin Witch (2003), Atomic Falafel (2015), and Sweet Mud (2006) for which he won an Ophir Award for Best Feature Film. Sweet Mud was also shown at countless film festivals round the world where it took home multiple awards, including Best Foreign Film at the Sundance Film Festival, and the Crystal Bear award at the Berlin International Film Festival.
