Avi Pnini is a theatre and voice actor. On completing his acting studies in 1971, Pnini got on the theatre stage and has since worked at just about every repertoire theatre in Israel. When he was starting out, Pnini joined Jerusalem’s Khan Theatre company which he was a member of for about a decade, and to which he later returned in 2010. Pnini has appeared in countless television series including Inyan shel Zman (‘a matter of time’), Cheers for Love, Our Song, Miluim (‘reserve duty’), The Foxes, and Neighbourhood. Israelis born in the 1980s will remember him as the voice of Scarecrow in the animated series version of The Wizard of Oz. Highlights of Pnini’s film credits include Moments de la vie d’une femme (1979, Michal Bat-Adam), Time for Cherries (1991, Haim Bouzaglo), and No Names on the Doors (1997, Nadav Levitan) for which he was nominated for an Ophir Award in the Best Supporting Actor category.
