Leora (aka ‘Liora’) Rivlin is a theatre, film, and television actress, and a singer-songwriter. Rivlin landed her first starring role in the theatre at the age of 13, when she was cast in a production of Berthold Brecht’s The Visions of Simone Machard. In the years since, she has acted on all the leading Israeli theatre stages, including the Cameri, Haifa Theatre, Habima National Theatre, and Beit Lessin. Her performance in Hillel Mittelpunkt’s The Accident (2004) which ran at the Beit Lessin Theatre, won Rivlin an Israeli Theatre Award in the Best Supporting Actress category. Between 1983-1986, Rivlin played the iconic ‘Liora’ in the legendary Israeli sitcom, Krovim Krovim (‘nearby relatives’). She later starred in a host of other series including Chatzi HaMenashe (‘Half the Menashe’), Ugly Esti (the Israeli remake of Ugly Betty), Our Song, The Good Cop, and Stockholm. Highlights of her film credits include The Dreamer (Dan Wolman, 1970), Transit (Daniel Wachsmann, 1980), The Owl (Amnon Rubinstein, 198), and God of the Piano (Itay Tal, 2019).
Rivlin is married to actor and theatre director, Gedalia Besser.
