A home movie filmed by two American visitors, Martha and Irving Mendel, which presents prominent individuals and events in the months leading up to the establishment of the state. The film showcases, among other things, fires and extinguishing efforts in Jerusalem, the vibrant atmosphere of Tel Aviv’s beach and in the city itself, dances and prayers of various religious communities, British Mandate soldiers in the streets of Jerusalem, significant cultural institutions of the time, and training exercises in preparation for combat.
