In a fascinating interview filmed in 1986 for the promotional film, “WIZO – A Circle of Life in Service, Raya Jaglom describes her vision as president of WIZO Worldwide. Jaglom worked for the institution in leading roles from 1950 and served as president from 1970 to 1996. In this role, Jaglom helped establish training workshops for vulnerable groups in Israeli society. She initiated the construction of institutions for children, youth, women, and the elderly in Israel. Jaglom also established WIZO branches in the United States, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, and Hong Kong and traveled around the world to promote WIZO projects. Following a mission to the Soviet Union, she began working on behalf of Soviet Jewry, helping to found the Council for the Jews of the Soviet Union. She also served as chairperson of the Committee for Ida Nudle. Jaglom died in 2017 at the age of 98. The film was produced for WIZO by Micha Shagrir, directed by Daniel Siton, and sponsored by Bank Leumi
