A short documentary film, produced in the midst of World War II for the National Youth Immigration Committee of Hadassah, in order to raise funds for the Youth Immigration (Aliyah) project in America.
“Youth Aliyah has turned death into life” explains the film, which opens with the persecution of the Jews in Europe under the Nazi occupation. The plot follows a group of Jewish refugees, mainly children and youth from among the “children of Tehran”, who set out on a three-year journey through Siberia, Turkestan, and Tehran to the Land of Israel. The film presents their absorption in the Jewish settlements with the help of the Hadassah organization and other Zionist movements and explains their integration into the project of the Jewish settlement, in the local agriculture, in the industry, and even in the British army.
