An excerpt from First Steps, a documentary about working youth produced by Histadrut’s Center for Education and Culture.
I immigrated to Israel from Poland ten years ago and went to elementary school in Tel Aviv, tells a young girl, who had to leave the school system so she can provide for her family. I wanted to continue (studying), but we had to move elsewhere. We got into debt, and I had to start working. I work in a bookbindery for eight or nine months already, but I am not content with my job. According to the girl, she is determined to go back to school in the future.
