A short Israeli Film Service documentary, produced in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Plastic Manufacturers Club.
Rolling, pressing, injection molding, and filament winding: these techniques transform the byproducts of petroleum refineries into the plastic products we all know. As of 1973, some 220 factories and 5,000 workers take part in plastic processing in Israel. However, forecasts predict growth in these numbers. This short film reviews the local plastic industry and documents the production in Israel of various products – from tablecloths through water meters and drip pipes.
