A group of new Jewish immigrants arrives in Israel by boat and continues by bus to the mountains of Nazareth. At first the bus arrives in the historical city, to which the newcomers react with disappointment. Then a cluster of residential projects appears on the mountainside: a place referred to as “Kiryat Nazareth” in the film, and which would later be known as “Nazareth Illit” before being renamed “Nof Hagalil”. The Olim settle into the apartments and help construct new ones. At the time of their arrival, the location offers no employment and is not connected to the electric grid. The film’s protagonist, a boy who immigrated from Polandm, guides the viewers through the locations of his new routine: the clinic, the school, and also the market of historical Nazareth, which grows on him with time. At the end, a vision is given to the towns future, casting it as something of a productive and administrative capital of the Galilee.
