Documentation of the establishment of Kibbutz Ein Gev.
In less than 24 hours, in a Tower and Stockade action, Kibbutz Ein Gev is established on the bank of the Sea of Galilee. Members of Betelem group, the settlers, collect pebbles from the lake’s beach and fill the stockade. Residents of nearby kibbutzim help them erect the observation tower and the camp’s shacks. After the settlement is established, the settlers fix some basic infrastructure, such as a water tap and a first aid tent. Then, the settlers set to work to earn their livelihood. The members carry sand quarried from the banks of the Sea of Galilee to use in construction, fix fishing nets, and cast the nets in the lake.
