A recorded speech in English by Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion. In this speech, Ben-Gurion describes the growth and development of the State of Israel since its founding – the waves of immigration from all over the world, the education and professional training of the Olim, the establishment of over 300 settlements in four years – including in the Negev and the south, the development of industry and agriculture, and the development of a cheap and available medical system. In addition, Ben-Gurion emphasizes the state’s values reflected in the Declaration of Independence: encouraging immigration, developing the land for the benefit of all its inhabitants, and freedom, equality, and peace in the spirit of the prophets. He even defines the state’s goals for the coming decade, among them: the development of education, the continuation of immigration, and the flowering of the Negev.
After this video, short clips from different places and times appear: the “Artsa” immigration ship arrives on the shores of Israel, El Al passengers land in Israel, landscapes and workers doing their work.
