An official opening ceremony for the new Tel Aviv Museum is held in the plaza outside the building. Prime Minister Golda Meir, Foreign Minister Abba Even, President Zalman Shazar, and the director of the museum, Haim Gamzo sit at the podium and provide opening remarks. Nearby, doctors hold a protest calling to invest money in missing hospital beds instead of the museum. Then Shazar cuts the ribbon and the tour of the museum spaces begins. Guests stop to look at Mark Chagalls painting.
