The Cypriot passenger ship Cyprus is on fire at the Haifa port. The ship, which operates on the Brindisi-Haifa line, reached Haifa port with smoke on board. The crew and passengers were quickly evacuated and rescued, and Haifas fire department extinguishes the fire, which lasts for several hours. The ship is towed from the port and taken to the shoreline on the Shemen beach in Haifa, to prevent its sinking and extinguish the fire safely. The ship Cyprus was built in Norway 34 years ago, and when the fire is finally extinguished, the ship is ruined completely.
