American Diplomat Joseph Sisco Visits Israel

Joseph Sisco, the American Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, visits Israel in an attempt to bring about the termination of the War of Attrition. Sisco meets with Prime Minister Golda Meir in her office in Tel Aviv in the presence of the United States Ambassador to Israel Walworth Barbour. Later, Sisco goes on a tour of Yardena and Gesher in the Beit Shean Valley, accompanied by Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Haim Bar Lev and Commander of the Northern Command Major General Mordechai Gur. Sisco visits a house that was hit by artillery shells, a shelter for toddlers, and a clinic.
