A film created by the United Jewish Appeal, the Joint Distribution Committee, and the Norwegian government, about Jews in displaced persons (DPs) camps after the Shoah. The film depicts the DPs camps where Jews were located after World War II, particularly the old and the sick, whom no country was willing to accept, even several years after the war’s end. The Norwegian government in collaboration with these American Jewish organizations provided refuge for a certain number of Jews and allowed them to come to Norway, receive medical treatment, and rebuild their lives. The film also showcases two examples of peoples who did so and successfully created new lives in Norway. At the end of the film, the presenter – Sir Cedric Hardwicke – addresses the audience, appealing for donations to the United Jewish Appeal to support the continuation of this project.
