A propaganda film produced by Histadrut, encouraging youth to Join HaNoar HaOved.
Shlomo (Yair Pradelsky), a job hopping boy from Jaffa, is regularly mistreated by his employers. His friend Yosef is a member of the youth movement HaNoar HaOved. The two friends part ways when Yosef leaves for a HaNoar HaOved hakhshara (preparation for settlement in a kibbutz). While Yosef herds sheep and socializes with girls, Shlomo stays in Jaffa and is humiliated by his welder boss. Finally, Shlomo decides to join HaNoar HaOved.
