A film by David Perlov documenting the rich and lively Ladino culture in Israel, as expressed in the Judaeo-Spanish language kept over generations. Perlov turns his camera to Ladino-speaking women and men, and in return they share with us their rich culture as passed from generation to generation in oral poems and stories. The film includes interviews with Ladino speaking Holocaust survivors living in Israel, who share their testimonies and memories of the war. In his humanistic look, Perlov offers us a portal to a vibrant culture preserved by older generations, a culture that has been shaped over many centuries, yet its future is unknown.
